AFFORDABLE UTI TREATMENT

Antibiotics for a UTI can be low cost even without insurance.

We typically prescribe a 7-day course of the antibiotic Macrobid.

With coupons from GoodRx the pills can cost as little as $25 at some pharmacies without insurance.

If you have insurance, your insurance should cover the antibiotic we prescribe.

How UTI Visits Work

Requesting a prescription takes a few minutes. It’s easier than you think.

Answer health questions

These questions cover your medical history, symptoms, current medicines, and allergies. It’s important to answer them truthfully.

Smile and take a picture

Your picture is an important element of the information our doctors assess. You need a camera on your device to take a picture.

Select pharmacy

Select any pharmacy in your state. We send your prescription electronically. You’ll pay for the medicine at the pharmacy. If you don’t have insurance, check GoodRx before you select your pharmacy.

Pay visit fee

Pay the visit fee to us. Later you’ll pay for the medicine at the pharmacy.

Doctor review - 2 hour

Depending upon state regulations, you may have a short video visit with one of our doctors immediately after paying. If you don’t need a video visit we aim to review your information in 2 hours during business hours.

Pharmacy pick up

If appropriate, we’ll send you a message when we send your prescription to the pharmacy. The message contains an important link to your treatment plan.

Important things to know

Make sure you understand the risks and benefits of our UTI service.

Our doctors look at the answers you give to our health questions to decide if you have an uncomplicated UTI that we can treat appropriately online. Depending on your symptoms and medical history, we may tell you that we can't give you a prescription and that you have to see a doctor in person.

We use evidence-based guidelines to make sure we ask you the right questions to determine if you have a UTI, but sometimes we'll get it wrong. If we get our diagnosis wrong then we'll either give you an antibiotic that you don't need or we'll decline to give you an antibiotic when actually an antibiotic is what you need. If we give you a medicine you don't need then you'll be at risk of the potentially serious side effects, and it'll increase the chance that any future infections will be resistant to the antibiotic we prescribe. In the second situation we'll delay you getting the correct care.

Who we can't help

If any of the following apply, it's in your best interest to see a doctor in person rather than use our UTI service.

  • Diabetes
  • Pregnant
  • Postmenopause
  • Under 18
  • You're a man
  • 65 or older
  • Fever or chills
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Symptoms lasting longer than a week
  • New pain in your back or sides
  • Abnormal vaginal discharge, burning, itching, irritation, or odor
