A simple approach to personalized care

We’re an online doctors office. Our mission is to help you get convenient, affordable great care regardless of where you are in the US. That’s why we operate nationally.

You’re unique, and your care should be too. If you suffer from depression or anxiety, our team of experienced doctors, nurse practitioners and pharmacists provide the personalized care you need at a fraction of the cost of seeing a doctor in person. We’ll help you achieve your personal goals and help you work out how long you should be on treatment given your situation.

You don’t have to feel this way

We can start you on medicines, adjust your medicines until we’ve found an effective one, and help you decide if and when to come off treatment when we’ve reached improvement.

It’s important to understand that antidepressants and anxiety medicines don’t work overnight. It may be 6-8 weeks before you feel any improvement and you’re likely to be on treatment for at least 12 months.

The team at Lemonaid Pharmacy will ship your antidepressants or anxiety meds direct to your door monthly in plain discreet packaging. You don’t need to sign for deliveries.

What is Depression?

Depression is the most common mental health condition. Too many people feel unable to get help.

Can you diagnose depression online?

Yes. Our doctors and nurse practitioners use the same guidelines and clinical tools to diagnose depression online as a doctor would if you saw them in person.

Can you treat depression online?

We can. Our team of experienced doctors, nurse practitioners and pharmacists can give you the help you need. We’ll work with you month by month to establish your goals and help you find the antidepressant medicine that works for you. Once you’ve seen improvement, we’ll work with you to decide if and when to come off treatment.

Lemonaid doesn’t currently offer psychotherapy called ‘cognitive behavioral therapy (‘CBT’), but you may find CBT helpful as a substitute or complement to prescription treatment. Our team will help you find CBT options that are right for you.

Are depression medicines effective?

Yes. Because everyone’s unique, it’s difficult to tell in advance how a particular antidepressant medicine will work for you. That’s why it’s so important that we work with you to adjust your depression medicine if needed. We’ll typically recommend you start with an SSRI, and adjust your medicine and dosage based on how you respond.

As with any medicine, there’s no guarantee that it will work for you.

How quickly do depression meds work?

Antidepressant meds don’t work overnight. It can take 6-8 weeks before you know how a depression medicine works for you, and it can take 3 months before you feel the full benefits.

How long will I need to take depression medicines?

Most people stay on depression medicines for at least 12 months the first time they take them. If your depressions returns repeatedly, one option is to stay on antidepressant medicine lifelong.

What is Anxiety?

Occasional anxiety is a normal part of life. But excessive anxiety means you have intense, excessive and persistent worry and fear about everyday situations. These feelings are often difficult to control and can be stressful. They can make it hard to function day to day.

Can you diagnose anxiety online?

Yes. Our doctors and nurse practitioners use the same guidelines to diagnose anxiety online as doctors in traditional practice.

Can you treat anxiety online?

You can. Lemonaid can help you understand your anxiety and, if appropriate, prescribe anxiety medicines after an online video consultation. We’ll work with you over several months to figure out the best medicine and dosage for you.

Treatment & risks

Depression and anxiety are complex. While mental health is one of the most common uses of telemedicine, we aren’t able to help everyone and results don’t happen overnight. If your personal situation is too complex for us to handle, we’ll be straight up with you and recommend you see someone in person.

The antidepressants and anxiety medicines we prescribe online are prescription medicines that are FDA-approved and taken by millions of Americans every day. But like all medicines, they come with the risk of serious side effects. And while we’ll do all we can to personalize your care and find the right treatment plan for your goals, there’s no guarantee that the medicines will work.
